Vain by Fisher Amelie

This is the story of Sophie Price, a sophisticated girl from California, who is the epitome of vain. She uses her beauty to make people like her, and she loves herself, because she doesn’t feel like anyone else does. She does a lot of bad things, like manipulating, lying, using drugs, and cheating to get her way, but in the inside she feels unloved, and alone.

I thought the setting of this book was going to be high society, so I was shocked, when she’s sent to an orphanage in Uganda, where the story really begins…

She met a lot of amazing, selfless people that teach her lots of values, and great lessons in human kindness.

I loved them all: the grown- ups, the kids… you learn a lot of things from each and every one of the characters in this book. It’s such an incredible run, and one much greater than what Sophie expected, cause she ends up in a journey of self- discovery, where she realizes that the real beauty lies within.

I love Sophie: all her bad actions came from a scared girl that only wanted to be loved. She had a good heart, and a golden will.  She’s completely able of giving all her love away, and is willing to accept it in return.

Ian/Dingane is stunningly beautiful as well, inside and out. It’s impossible not to love him, when being so considerate, passionate, and kind.

“Sophie Price, you are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met,” he stated before turning my direction and staring me dead in the eyes. “You are so gosh damn beautiful in here,” he said, tapping my chest, “that what’s here,” he spoke, running the side of his hand down my face, “is magnified tenfold and that is a sight to behold.”

The romance between this two is completely lovely, and one another complete the other so well, that was breathtaking to read their interactions.

This book was beautiful. I didn’t expect to love it like I did. It was such an inspiring, heart-breaking story, that made me want to cry and smile and laugh all the time, filled with emotion, and enwrap in the story. A complete must read.

Find You In The Dark By A. Meredith Walters

This book was so intense. I didn’t see coming Clay’s issues. I thought he was just going to be a bad boy, troublemaker. I never thought he actually had mental issues. That was a completely surprising turn. 

There was so much drama in this book, and I’m a complete drama queen when it comes to books, so of course, I loved it!
I’ve never read a book like this, with one of the main characters with mental issues. 
It was such a struggle for Clay through the entire book, trying to fight his impulses. I felt really sorry for him. There were times I wanted to hug him or punch him bad, and I had to remember that it was because of his illness. He wasn’t completely responsible for his actions, and I felt bad cause he screw it up over and over again, not doing it on purpose. 
I was mad when I read that he stopped taking his medications, but I understand it at some point. I wouldn’t enjoy feeling like a zombie either, and having to take them forever… that must be hard and sad. 

The romance in this book was SO passionate. Not only physically, but emotionally as well. They were so into each other, loving one another into the very core. They were the most significant part of the other, and that’s not a feeling easy to find. 

I loved Maggie. She was so sarcastic, and realist, and loyal. It was admirable how much she loved Clay, and how she stood by him through everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. So much happened in this book. It was a turmoil rollercoaster. 

Clay. Sexy, romantic, profound. He would have been THE perfect guy if he didn’t have all his lashes. But he was too intense. 
““I can't lose you again! I'll do anything! Just don't walk away from me!” He pleaded.” 

Daniel and Rachel were the best of the best friends. Wise, loyal, and protective. Daniel was so silly when it came to Rachel and her love, but other than that, they were amazing friends. Love that Daniel and Rachel figured it out in the end, and became a couple. They were so cute and a very functional couple. 

Her parents were unfair in my opinion. They started judging Clay really quickly. And when they told Maggie that she was too young to know what love was?!?! Are you serious?!? That’s bullshit!
Her dad gave the image of being this cool, awesome guy, but when it came to something serious, he totally backed down with the coolness. 
To complain about Maggie changing, was such a hypocrite thing to do! They changed their parenting tendencies as well, when they met Clay. They became overprotective, judgmental, and freaking controlling! Like they were never in love! Of course their daughter was going to change! That was her first boyfriend!
I wasn’t happy in the parent department of this book. Her parents and then… his parents. They were so shitty! So cold and unattached to their kid. The only adults I liked were his aunt Ruby, and her partner Lisa. They were supportive and caring, loving Clay above everything. 

The end of this book! It was completely sad. Couldn’t believe what Clay did! I understand where it came from, thinking that Maggie betrayed him and all, but that was definitely not the solution! And that cliffhanger! I want to cry and hug everybody!

Wonder By R. J. Palacio

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I've never read anything like this book, and it was completely beautiful. It was a rollercoaster of emotions: sometimes I wanted to cry, sometimes I smiled really big, and other I just wanted to punch some of the characters.  The story begins, when August, who is a kid with a couple of diseased that turned it's face a little deformed, starts school for the first time. It’s about how people react to him, and how he really takes it in. I was so mad when he was called names like orc, or Alien, or freak. Why would you do that? I like to think that if I were ten tears old, and I bumped into August, I would react in a cool way. I don’t want to be hypocrital, cause I’m no ten anymore, and I don’t know how I would have reacted, cause we humans tend to be afraid of the things that are not normal to us, but I know that I wouldn’t have cause him pain on purpose, being mean.  August is amazing. He’s so good: he doesn’t do confrontations, he never wanted special treatment, and he’s incredibly funny. I kept reading her dialogues and thinking: ‘Aw, he’s so cute!’“I actually agree with my mom,” she said. “I do think we’re too young to be dating. I mean, I just don’t see what the rush is.”“Yeah, I agree,” said August. “Which is kind of a shame, you know, what with all thosebabes who keep throwing themselves at me and stuff?” I laughed SO hard with that. I love August. Summer was August first real friend at the school. She was so adorable, and kind. I know that that first day she felt sorry for him and went to his table to be polite, but then she realized that August is a really cool guy, and they become great friends. Jack Will, was in the beginning kind of forced to be close to August, and he was a little freaked out, so he said same mean things of August behind his back, that August overhead, and gets upset about. He cut Jack Will off, and that’s when Jack finds out that he really missed August, and that he wanted to be his friends, without having to pretend. I love his two friends. There very loyal, and they didn’t get intimidated for the mayority of people who was rejecting August.  I love the transformation of the fifth graders through this book: how at first, they all feared and rejected August (they even had this game called The Plague, that if you touch August and don’t wash your hands in the immediate thirty seconds, you get the plague), and how that starts changing little by little, until the trip. They protect him from some bullies of seventh grade, and the story goes around through all school, and they start loving August. I was SO HAPPY after this. And the award part! I wanted to cry of happiness so much! "And as I walked up the steps to the stage, the most amazing thing happened: everyone started standing up. Not just the front rows, but the whole audience suddenly got up on their feet, whooping, hollering, clapping like crazy. It was a standing ovation. For me."  His family is fantastic. His parents loved their kids more than anything in the world, and they were the best parents for August: they took care of him (physically and mentally), they loved him unconditionally, and that's something you don't find easily these days.  “Come on, Auggie, please try to understand,” he continued, putting his hand under my chin and tilting my face toward him. “You were wearing that helmet all the time. And the real, real, real, real truth is: missed seeing your face, Auggie. I know you don’t always love it, but you have to understand … I love it. I love this face of yours, Auggie, completely and passionately. And it kind of broke my heart that you were always covering it up.”  I love how we get different points of view in the book, cause we get to see the whole situation, and what it meant to every meaningful character in the story. (I must admit I got kind of lost in Justin’s part). It was great to see how much August changed people lives, and how he got to be so loved. I loved every POV, and every character that spoke.  I totally recommend this book. It’s a display of humanity and kindness, and loyalty, and blindless not superficial love. (Love the part when they talked about faceless souls that recognize each other by the love they feel in their hearts). It’s a very moving, hopeful, beautiful story, that I’m gonna treasure, and re read it a couple times! I take my hat off to R. J. Palacio !

Top 5 Favourites YA heroines

All this girls have something in common: they're brave and loyal, and kick-ass! They're really inspiring, with a strength in spirit that's difficult to find, and courage to face everything that's laid in front of them. I take my hat off to this ladies!

• Izzy Lightwood (from the Mortal Instruments series): she went to save his brother from a shadowhunter/demon, without knowing what to expect, because she couldn't let Jace thought he was curse. Such a great sister. 
• Tris Prior (from the Divergent series): she gave herself to the Erudite leader for experimentation, to save the people she cared about. 
• Hermione Granger (from the Harry Potter series): read the seven books. She's ALWAYS there for Harry and Ron. Big brain, huge heart. 
• Clara Gardner (from the Unearthly series): she fights for what she thinks it's right. She makes sacrifices and push herself to the limit to protect the ones she love. 
• Celaena Sardothien (from the Throne of Glass series): she's letal. She saved Nox several times, and set Sam free. Underneath the bad ass looks, she has a tender heart, and cares for people, trying to protect them in her own way.
