Top 5 Favourite Novellas

I love those novellas that tell a different story within the main story. Normally they're about the best friend of the main character in the series, but sometimes they're a few exceptions. Here are my favourite 5 novellas of all time:

  • Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover

The love story between Daniel and Six is as powerful as Sky and Dean's. They're some pretty intense moments  in here, but it made what they were feeling for each other much more stronger and meaningfull. This novella was quite a journey.

  • In Time by Alexandra Bracken

I actually cried when I finished reading this. I felt so much more reading this short story than with the book of this series. The Darkest Minds was a pretty amazing book, so of course I decided to pick this one. I was not aware of how much of a rollercoaster of emotions this was going to be. I completely forgot this was a novella until the final pages. I was so into the story. It made me smile, and laugh, and want to hug my pillow and cry very very hard.

  • Destroy Me by Tahereh Mafi

Tahereh Mafi made me root for the "bay" guy, you know why? Cause he isn't a really bad guy at all! We had a brave, sweet, spectacular love interest, but after this? He's so boring! Warner became SO interesting. He feels so deeply and now I completely believe Juliette and him are meant to be. One should see all the points of view before making a decision people. This novella changed my view on Shatter me and made me wish for a different ending!

  • Cloud Walking by A. Meredith Walters

Find you in the dark was such a hard book, and this novella was refreshing. I was so happy about their cloud walking love, and it was good seeing how it was completely different from Maggie and Clay's devouring, intense love. Daniel and Rachel's love was easy as breathing, when Maggie and Clay's was a struggle every single day. I love the contrast between the book and this novella.

  • Crossing The Line by Katie McGarry

I really loved Lila and Lincoln together: their story was so interesting and different! The letters were beautiful, and I think this could easily have been a book. I mean, write more about their letters, how they've met, more about his background story, and how they ended together in Florida and you've got a book! Still, cute story, and lovely romance, that everybody should read. It can be read independently from the other books as well.

So yeah, those were my favourite novellas. I completely recommend them, cause I ended up loving these wonderful stories. I enjoy as well all of The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare (& Sarah Rees Brennan, or Maureen Johnson): not so much the first two, but they keep getting better and better!

Top 5 Favourites YA heroines

All this girls have something in common: they're brave and loyal, and kick-ass! They're really inspiring, with a strength in spirit that's difficult to find, and courage to face everything that's laid in front of them. I take my hat off to this ladies!

  • Izzy Lightwood (from the Mortal Instruments series): she went to save his brother from a shadowhunter/demon, without knowing what to expect, because she couldn't let Jace thought he was curse. Such a great sister.
  • Tris Prior (from the Divergent series): she gave herself to the Erudite leader for experimentation, to save the people she cared about.
  • Hermione Granger (from the Harry Potter series): read the seven books. She's ALWAYS there for Harry and Ron. Big brain, huge heart.
  • Clara Gardner (from the Unearthly series): she fights for what she thinks it's right. She makes sacrifices and push herself to the limit to protect the ones she love.
  • Celaena Sardothien (from the Throne of Glass series): she's letal. She saved Nox several times, and set Sam free. Underneath the bad ass looks, she has a tender heart, and cares for people, trying to protect them in her own way.

    Top 5 favourites male characters

    1. Will Herondale (from The Infernal Devices series): great sense of humour. Greatest, biggest heart. He's so very honorable. He sacrificed everything he was and everything he wanted  for the well- being and happiness of the people he loved. He's my hero.
    2. Will Cooper (from Slammed): he took everything the world threw at him, with strength and an unbreakable will. He made lots of sacrifices and never asked anything in return.
    3. Magnus Bane (from The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments series): he's so fucking awesome. He drools charm and everywhere he goes is a party. He's very special, but he still wishes to be treated like everybody else. He's always looking and finding the good in people and trying to fix the broken.
    4. Percy Jackson (from Heroes of the Olympus): the best word to describe Percy Jackson is loyal. He goes to hell and beyond for the people he loves, and they always, always come first. He faces every obstacle with a smile and a snarky comment. He's the guy who sees the glass half full and makes people laugh even in the dark times. He's completely lovable and a natural leader.
    5. Daemon Black (from Obsidian): once he passed the jerk phase... perfection.

    • Colleen Hoover: her books are completely poetic and real. They make your heart break and your head spin for days.

    • Lauren Oliver: her writing is fantastic. She portrays the worlds in her books totally beliavable, and you can't stop from immersing in them.

    • Suzanne Collins: She killed EVERYONE. That's realistic when it comes to war.
